A note from Long Gone John
A Note From Long Gone John
"i've been inundated (big word, johnny) with questions on how the premiere in austin went last night so i thought i'd post this special little missive to all the inquisitive minds :
according to several reliable and completely unbiased reports it was a massive success
there were over 1500 anxious hopeful attendees turned away at the doors
people were chanting in the street " long gone john long gone john long gone john" followed by deafening screaming "go home go home go home" until someone finally told them i wasn't there...
the packed theatre was bustin' at the seams and the audience was a yippin' and a hollerin' like all get out and literally tearing down the house
girls were throwing their panties at the screen and yelling "take me you filthy dog"
there were tears of laughter and tears of joy and at least one case of uncontrollable vomiting...
people seemed most pleased with the sight of my charming presence on the screen and the lull of my sensitive and comforting voice...
several people were later heard commenting "what the fuck was up with all that art and toy shit ??" and "whats the deal with that lame '57 chevy with the flames ??"
other comments overheard in the lobby after the screening:
"i had no idea long gone john was that handsome"
"i had no idea long gone john was that charismatic"
"i had no idea long gone john was that witty and intelligent"
"i had no idea long gone john was that kind and giving"
"i had no idea long gone john was that suave and sophisticated"
"i had no idea long gone john was that christ-like"
and the highly anticipated
"did you see martin scorsese, quentin tarantino and woody allen trying to act inconspicuous ??"
well, i guess thats pretty much what i expected to happen which is exactly the reason why i didn't go...i don't do so good with unflinching admiration besides i was making enchiladas, i needed to clean the catbox and i didn't want to miss NCIS on tv with abby, the cool goth/punk girl that works in the forensic lab...
well, thats all outta me for now . . . like that like later, john xx"
